Majorette tryouts will be Tuesday, May 30th from 3-finish.

Information has been received from the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #6 Joint Apprenticeship Committee.     Information is available in the Apprenticeship binder in the Guidance Office.


The Pearce Law Firm - Aspiring Pennsylvania Attorney's Scholarship:  This $1,500 scholarship is open to high school students in the state of PA who are planning on attending law school.   A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.  Applications are due by May 31, 2017, and are available online.    


The Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship Program is a $1,000 scholarship for high school seniors who intend to pursue an animation related field at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  The application deadline is June 1, 2017


The Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship Program is a $1,000 scholarship for seniors who intend to pursue a fashion related field at an accredited post-secondary school or college.    The deadline is June 1, 2017.


Juniors and Seniors:  Abbott and Fenner Business Consultants - $1,000 scholarship for an essay on the following topic:  Describe your educational career and life goals.  Explain your plan for achieving these goals.  Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.  Deadline is June 12, 2017.


The Nursing Schools Almanac is awarding a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse. It is open to seniors who plan to pursue a college education in nursing including LPN/LVN, ADN and BSN programs. Students must be in good academic standing and on track to graduate from high school. June 30th is the application deadline. Students must apply online at


July 10th through July 13th, the professional forensic science and law fraternity, Phi Sigma Lambda, will be hosting the 14th annual summer forensic science and law workshop at Duquesne University.  Applicants must be high school Juniors or Seniors as of Fall 2017 and have a strong interest in the sciences.  For more information, check out the summer binder.  Students must apply online.  The final deadline for applications is June 9th.


Do you have big dreams of working in a media department covering sports? On June 20th through July 22nd, Duquesne University will be hosting a summer Sports Journalism Media Camp for high school students.   Campers will get a chance to meet professional athletes and regional media professionals.  Camp costs including meals and materials are $150.  Registration deadline is May15th. The camp registration form is available in the summer binder in the guidance office.


Attention students interested in athletic training:  UPMC has a two day workshop this summer "introduction to athletic training:   An Interactive workshop for high school students".    The workshop is July 26th and 27th.  Please see the summer binder in the guidance office for more information and a registration form.
