ATHLETIC Announcements:

Good Luck to the Girls Softball team who will be competing with Mt. Pleasant High School at Seton Hill beginning at 3:00 pm in the WPIAL Semi Finals.  Players will be dismissed at 11:00. Bus will depart at 12:15.

JUST IN CASE YOU FORGOT TO ORDER A YEARBOOK:   A very limited amount of yearbooks will be available for purchase May 22nd through the 24th.  SENIORS only may purchase on Wednesday. All other grades may purchase on Thursday and Friday.  Sales are CASH only ($90) and are first come, first serve. Please see Mrs. Breisinger in Rm. 123.

GUIDANCE Announcements:

TJ Scholarships is updated using Remind in addition to the website, scholarship binder, and announcements. You can sign up to get text alerts by texting @tjsch to 81010. An email was sent to all seniors with this information.


The B. Davis Scholarship - a $1,000 scholarship for high school juniors and seniors is available. Applicants must write an essay of less than 1,000 words on a specific topic.  For more information , see the scholarship web page. The deadline is May 24, 2019.


The Worgul Law Firm Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 is now available. Students must be accepted to or currently enrolled in a college, university or graduate school across the United States, maintain a 3.0 or higher, and have demonstrated outstanding service to the community, high initiative to further their education and a strong academic performance. See the scholarship webpage to apply. Applications must be received by May 31. 2019.


The Three Rivers Desk and Derrick Club is awarding three $500 scholarships to students seeking to further their education by enrolling in a College or University in an energy-related discipline or an accredited Trade or Vocation Institution which offers industry-related training and skills. Please see the scholarship webpage for the application. The deadline for application is May 31st.


Duquesne University is pleased  to announce the date and time of this year's DuquesneFest Sunday, June 9th, beginning at 9:00 am.  This is the largest open house of the year.  DuquesneFest provides fun and information to Fall 2019 high school seniors and their families.  If you are interested, please register at www.duq.edu/duquesnefest.


Attention Senior Athletes! The Big Sun Scholarship is offering a $500 scholarship to help young athletes in their academic pursuits. The successful candidate must be a senior and currently involved in some sport. Deadline is June 19, 2019.  


Nominations for the Hines Ward 7th Annual Positive High School Athlete Award are now open, and over $100,000 in scholarships are available to Western Pennsylvania High School Athletes. The awards are given to student-athletes grade 9-12 who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools or communities, or just have an infectious positive attitude.


Students, information is available in the career center and website for scholarship, grant and loan opportunities primarily for Masons, their siblings, children, grandchildren and members of the Masonic-related youth groups. The amounts and deadlines vary for the many available opportunities.


Allegheny Health Network in announcing the Healthcare Discovery Summer Internship Program. This is an eight-week, paid, learning experience for 30 High School Junior and Senior students who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, are at least 16 years of age, demonstrate a strong interest in healthcare careers and have access to reliable transportation.   The internship connects students interested in future healthcare with hands on learning in both Clinical and Non-Clinical areas within a hospital setting, as well as provide exposure to medical professionals. For an application, stop by the guidance office and view the “Summer Binder” for the application.


Seniors  who plan to enroll and complete a career or technical program at a community college are encouraged to apply for the new 2019 Horatio Alger National Career and Technical Scholarship Program. The  Association will award 1,010 scholarships with a maximum award of $2,500 depending on the length of the program. Students must also demonstrate financial need and demonstrate perseverance in overcoming adversity. Students must apply online by June 15th.
