BLiSS is an intensive, week-long set of engagements that will help instructors design a plan for replacing a face to face course unit into a blended learning experience for students. A Blended Learning experience includes both online and face to face components.

In this accelerated summer program, participants should plan for at least 30 hours of engagement. Throughout the week, participants will engage in face to face events and online activities. Full participation in all activities is expected.

Participants will receive a stipend of $1000. The intended use of the stipend is for professional development or the collection of materials and resources necessary for implementing a blended learning course plan.

The program will focus on the types of pedagogical and administrative questions that must be considered, using the Replacement Model for reducing "seat time" as our blended learning guide. At the end of the program, participants will have created a map for a unit of their course.  Participants will be introduced to some technologies that can help them reach their course goals and implement their course map.  They also will receive information on support resources for some technologies.  However, this program will not provide technical training.
