The purpose of this site is to support the teaching and learning of Environmental systems and societies (ESS) of the students at West Island School, Hong Kong. 

It is designed to provide resources, links, exam and coursework support in order to deepen the knowledge and understanding of those who want to become actively engaged in their own learning. 

ESS is an interdisciplinary group 3 and 4 course that is offered at standard level (SL). The prime intent for the course is to provide students with a coherent perspective of interrelationships between environmental systems and societies; one that enables them to adopt an informed personal response to the wide range of pressing environmental issues that will they will inevitably come to face.
