The Winthrop Grade School music program strives to create the necessary time and space for explorative learning while providing a scaffold of structure that guides our students towards becoming skillful music makers, creative problem solvers, and cooperative learners.
General music classes are an ongoing process of discovery, creativity, and skill development. Students learn through active music making (singing, playing instruments, creating) and musical thinking (reading, reflecting, interpreting, connecting). When safe- we will resume our in-school band, chorus, recorder, and ukulele classes.
