About Your Teachers

Ms. Rioux

This will be my eighth year teaching preschoolers at the Winthrop Grade School. Before becoming a preschool teacher, I was an English Language Arts teacher at a local high school. I took some time away from teaching high school English when I had my second child and decided to open a childcare that I ran out of my home. After caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers at home, I decided I liked preschoolers so much that I wanted to teach preschoolers in a public school. So here I finally am and I love my job! When I am not teaching or planning classroom activities, I like spending time with my husband, our two boys, Zakary (19) and Samuel (11), and our two dogs Chewie (5) and American Bull Dog mix and Lola (1) a pit bull/lab mix (or labrabully)! We like going to our family’s camp, hiking, and sometimes just staying home and watching a good movie. I also love yoga, walks with dogs, am an avid reader and write memoirs when I have time.
