Journal writing on website searches.


1. Summarize the issues of copper/nickel mining in Minnesota in 4 sentences.
jobs, environment, water quality, demand for minerals etc.


2. What are 4 selling points that these companies are making to support the mining of copper and nickel?


3. What are 4 concerns these groups have about this type of mining?

pick at least 2 of these to do in your journal
4. Describe  sulfide mining and what the risks and the benefits are.
5. What things do we use that have copper and nickel in them?  Could you live without them?
6. Which side of the issue do you agree with?  Give your best argument for why copper/nickel mining should go forward or why it should be stopped.
