 2001-2002

  • Wilson Central opens for the first time August 13, 2001 under the direction of Principal Larry Kernagis; with a faculty of 92 highly qualified administrators, teachers, and support staff.  (250,000 square feet)..."Building A Tradition". 
  • The senior class of 2002 has the opportunity to decide if they want continue their education at their current school (LHS, MJHS) or if they want to become a Wilson Central Wildcat.  
  • May 24, 2002...Wilson Central graduates 104 seniors.

  • Wilson Central adds 16 new staff members.
  • Wilson Central/Mt. Juliet Hockey wins State Championship
  • Band places 1st at the Glencliff Colt Classic

  • WCHS cheerleaders voted National Cheerleading Association Top Team

  • Wilson Central golfer Kellie O'Connell competes at the state tournament
  • Golf teams (Boys & Girls) are District Champions
  • Cross country runners, Angie Roach and Breonna Brown make it to state
  • Boys Basketball are Region 5AAA Champions and Sub State Champions
  • Girls Basketball earn District & Regional Champion title
  • Wilson Central Baseball claims District 9AAA Championship title.
  • Baseball pitcher Bobby Hoban threw a perfect game against Martin Luther King.
  • Senior baseball player James Adkins signs with the University of Tennessee and drafted by the MLB Dodgers in 2007.
  • Band (Colorguard & Percussion) places 1st at Butler Co. Marching Competition
  • Band places 1st at Hendersonville Invitational (Horn Line, Percussion, Colorguard, & Overall)
  • WCHS Cheerleaders voted National Cheerleading Association Top Team
  • Wilson Central graduates 257 seniors.

  • WC Volleyball advances to sub-state.
  • Football advances to state play-offs.
  • Golfers Sean Gassie & Kellie O'Connell advance to the state tournament making this Kellie's third trip to state.
  • Boys basketball repeat as Region 5AAA and make to the state final-four
  • Girls basketball claims Region 5AAA title, finishing in the state Elite 8.
  • Baseball team wins District 9AAA and Region 5AAA Championship
  • Softball team claims 9AAA Championship
  • Girls Bowling team win District Championship
  • WCHS Cheerleaders voted National Cheerleading Association Top Team

  • Jillian Sito places 1st in the SKILLS USA State Competition.
  • Chief Dempsey/ROTC create the Memorial Garden to remember students who have passed.

  • Wilson Central adds on with the addition of much needed classroom space, an additional cafeteria, small gym, and extra parking available for use after fall break.

  • Band receives the Tennessee Bandmasters Award

  • Wilson Central named News Channel 4's Cool School of the Year
  • Wilson Central Senior, James Flatt, named State FFA President.  This is the only the second time in state history that two consecutive state presidents are chosen from the same chapter.
  • Student council named 4-star council.  In addition, Mrs. Carney is named State Advisor of the Year.
  • Football team advances to play-offs.
  • Golfer, Sam Stradley, competes at the state tournament.
  • Boys and Girls Bowling teams advance to the state tournament.
  • Senior, Jasmine Hassell, receives national recognition when chosen as a member of the 2009 McDonald's All-Star team.
  • Seven WCHS swimmers advance to regionals.
  • Softball team advances to the state tournament.
  • Baseball pitcher Zach Phillips threw an 18-strikeout no-hitter against Gallatin.

  • Wilson Central mourns the loss of guidance counselor and friend, Mrs. Kellie Whited (1969-2009)
  • Golfer, Kathlene Mitchell competes at the state tournament.
  • Mr. Darian Brown promoted to principal when classes resume for second semester.
  • Boys & Girls Bowling teams BOTH win the state championship
  • Volleyball team wins district and regional championship.  Coach Serbin named Coach of the Year.
  • Wilson Central Softball advances to substate for second consecutive year and all four seniors earn college scholarships; Taylor Bond (Lee University), Tiffany Gooch (Western Kentucky University), Dana Lefler (Milligan College) and Sara Tichenor (Lindsey Wilson College).
  • Girls Basketball advances to the regional tournament 8th year in a row.
  • Emily Buck, WCHS Senior, was named the Tennessee FFA State President, making TN FFA history, by having three consecutive state presidents from the same chapter.

  • The Blue Zoo is born.
  • Wilson Central turns 10 years-old.
  • One hour lunch goes into effect.
  • Bowling Team ends the season 2nd in state.
  • Freshmen Basketball goes undefeated.
  • Jacob Belcher sets a new wrestling record with 122 wins.
  • First year for co-ed cheer squad; winning NCA Open National Competition

  • Basketball player, Darrius Oldham, breaks school record with 1260 points scored in his 4-year career.
  • Wrestler, John Kramer, breaks school record for most wins in a single season (59 wins) and the most pins (44 pins)
  • Baseball pitcher Tyler Fish throws a no-hitter against LaVergne.

  • Wilson Central earns #1 in attendance among all county high schools.
  • Wilson Central adopts an Alma Mater, written and composed by senior student David Gal-Chis.
  • WC golfer Hayden Bramble qualifies for the state tournament. Hayden is the 3rd male golfer in school history to qualify for the state tournament.
  • WCHS student council recognized as a Gold school of excellence.
  • WCHS senior Elijah Stafford scored a perfect 36 on his ACT.
  • Wilson Central wins State Farm's Celebrate My Drive campaign with a grand prize of $100,000 and a concert by Kelly Clarkson.
  • WCHS FFA Chapter receives a 3 star award, which is the highest rating an FFA chapter can receive.
  • Girls Bowling Team wins their 8th Regional Championship.
  • Wrestling team finishes their season as state runner up the second time in two years.  They are only the third team from Middle Tennessee, since 1998, to place in the top 2.  John Kramer, Lane Dickeson, and Austin Richard were selected to the Middle TN Dream Team. Perry Baltz and Christian Cerrito were selected to the Div 1 AAA Team. Eddie Small, Austin Richard, and John Kramer received Academic All American Honors. Austin Richard is the first wrestler in WC history to win over 200 matches. Coach Kramer won his 400th. Austin Richard (132lb.) and John Kramer (220lb.) end the season as State Champions!

2014-15

  • WC golfer, Lise Malherbe, shot an 84 and 79 in TSSAA State Championship to finish in 25th place statewide.  The 2 day tournament was played in Manchester at Willowbrook Golf Course and consisted of 60 of the states best players.

  • WCHS Wrestlers are District Champions for 4th consecutive year; sending 10 wrestlers to individual state tournament.  The team finished 3rd in the individual state tournament as a team out of 83 schools represented.  Mike Binns is the 152lb  State Champion,  John Kramer is the 220lb State Runner-up, Perry Baltz is the 182lb - 4th place, Lane Dickeson made it to the semi finals and then had to medically forfeit to 6th place due to the Flu.  
  • Nineteen WCHS students participate in the Student Council sponsored Pantene Challenge.  Hair was donated to create wigs for those undergoing cancer treatment.
  • Lady Wildcat Softball wins State!
  • New Wilson Central Track & Field records are set...Boys Discus – Braidon Miller;  Boys 4x200 – Dakivian Moore, Blake Lea, Anthony Dobson, & Austin Jackson;  Boys 800m – John Elrod; Boys 4x800 – John Elrod, Nathan Peterson, Baylor Franklin, & Joel Barlow;  Boys 1600m – John Elrod;  Boys 3200m – Joel Barlow
