 Chris Plummer, Principal

It’s great to be a West Elementary Bulldog!

Welcome and thank you for visiting the school website. West Elementary is a wonderful place to teach and learn, and I am honored to serve as Principal. We are fortunate to have teachers, parents, volunteers, and business partners to ensure the school’s success.

My wife, Julie, and I live in Mt. Juliet with our two children, Kate and Crews. I was born and raised in Kentucky and have been a proud resident and elementary school educator in Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. I have been a West Bulldog since 2012 having served as an Assistant Principal.  My experiences in each state have molded me into the administrator that I am today.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Western Kentucky University and a Master’s of Education degree from Southern Wesleyan University in Augusta, GA. Recognizing my goal of becoming an administrator, I later earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC.  I have recently decided that I will start pursuing my Doctorate beginning this Fall.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, watching and playing sports and participating/volunteering at our local church, College Hills Church of Christ.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions…this is going to be a great Bulldog year!

Rachel Cook, Assistant Principal

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! My name is Rachel Cook and I serve as the Assistant Principal at West Elementary. I began my teacher training at Middle Tennessee State University where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I went on to pursue a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University as well. Lastly, I received an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Lipscomb University. I have taught at Gladeville Elementary, Carroll-Oakland Elementary, and Tucker's Crossroads Elementary here in Wilson County.

I have been married to my husband, Brandon, for 15 years. Brandon is also an educator. We have four wonderful children; Faith, Tucker, Molly, Jack, and one on the way. In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding and working on our farm in Lebanon. We love the Wilson County community and have called it home for many years! My husband and I both grew up in Mt. Juliet and graduated from Mt. Juliet High School.

Being an educator is my dream career! I enjoy working with students, parents, teachers, and the community to help create a school that is a safe place, a family, where all students are successful. I believe an effective school is built on high expectations, collaboration, consistency, trust, and the willingness to go the extra mile. It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve as an administrator at such a fantastic school! I look forward to the exciting year ahead!
