Anita Christian, Principal
As Principal of Watertown Elementary School I take great pride and ownership in leading learning in the 2016-2017 school year. Being a product of the Wilson County School System, makes me proud and knowing that our district cares about every single student makes me even prouder. I have been involved in educating young people for many years as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and now as Principal.
When you walk into our school there is a banner hanging that states, “The most important people who walk through our doors are our students.” It is our goal for every student to feel that importance and self-worth when they come to school every day in knowing they have teachers, administration, and staff who love and care about them.
My career takes much of my time, but the children of Watertown Elementary School are worth it – they are our future. When I am not working, I enjoy being with my husband and horses, family, and friends plus a cute blue heeler dog named “Roper.” I am a huge country music fan, and I like to go horseback riding, antiquing, and shopping.
Dr. Peggy Druyor, Assistant Principal
I am excited to be joining the Watertown Elementary staff as Assistant Principal for the 2016-17 school year. I am looking forward to partnering with our students, parents, staff, and community to help our Purple Tigers “Leap to new heights” this year! My husband and I have always enjoyed visiting this area because of the fantastic country views and nice people.
This will be my 16th year working for the Wilson County school system, where I have enjoyed helping students learn new things! As a Kindergarten and then Fourth Grade classroom teacher, I felt I had more to offer, so I went back to school to earn a Master’s and then a Doctorate in education. It was well worth the effort, because it allowed me to move from the classroom to an administrative role, that expanded the number of people I could help, and finally brought me to Watertown.
