Questions And Answers

Q: I would like to hold a garage sale, estate sale or auction, are there any restrictions?

A:  You may hold a sale at your home but, because our roads are so narrow, you need to clear the date with the HOA Board of Directors, then ask a Board member to obtain the signs and orange traffic cones from the clubhouse storeroom. Place them so as to limit parking to one side of the street only and to direct traffic in a clockwise direction around Williamsburg Circle.  If an emergency occurs during the sale, the homeowner is responsible for seeing that all emergency vehicles have unrestricted access to the community.

Q: I’ve made some repairs to the exterior of my home. How do I find out if the expense is covered by my Article V Unit Fund and how do I get reimbursed?
A:
Each home’s Article V Unit Fund can be used at the owner’s discretion, as a reimbursement for exterior work on his or her property. This usage is restricted to the items spelled out in the CC&Rs (available at www.williamsburgcharlestonplace.com). If you have questions about what expenses the Unit fund covers, contact Pioneer Real Estate Services or the HOA board president.

To be reimbursed for Article V Unit Fund repairs, mail a copy of the paid invoice to Pioneer Real Estate Services, 611 S. Congress Avenue, # 510, Austin, TX 78704. Include a note indicating that this is for repairs under Article V to a specific address. Your Unit Fund will be debited the amount of the invoice and a check will be written to you. If sufficient funds have not accumulated in your fund to cover the invoice amount, the check will be written for the amount in the fund.

To find out the balance in your Article V Unit Fund account, please call:

Association Treasurer, Charles Ridings (512-345-3251), or

Pioneer Real Estate Services (512-447-4496).

Q: I’d like to host a private party in the clubhouse. How do I go about doing that and what will it cost?

A: The clubhouse can be rented for private parties, for a $50 fee. To reserve a date, please call Pioneer Real Estate Services, 512-447-4496. They will send you a reservation form, to be returned with the nonrefundable fee, plus a $300 damage deposit and a $50 cleaning deposit. Both deposits will be returned if the clubhouse is left in good condition after your party.

To manage parking for your guests, please ask a Board member to obtain signs and orange traffic cones from the clubhouse storeroom. Place them so as to limit parking to one side of the street only and to direct traffic in a clockwise direction around Williamsburg Circle.  If an emergency occurs during your party, you are responsible for seeing that all emergency vehicles have unrestricted access to the community.

A key to the clubhouse may be borrowed from Pioneer at 611 South Congress Ave., Suite 510, or resident Lucy Adcock (7906 Griffin Court, 512-241-0557, lucyadcock@yahoo.com) will arrange to unlock the clubhouse prior to your party and relock it afterwards. Please leave the clubhouse as neat and clean as it was before you used it. Thank you.

Q: My fencing needs to be repaired or replaced. Are there restrictions on the type of fencing I can have?

A: The HOA has developed a specific fencing policy to create a uniform appearance throughout the community. You can find detailed diagrams, which you can print out and give to your contractor, on this website. To access the policy, click on the Helpful Documents heading on the Welcome Page and check the Fence Policy entry. If you cannot access the policy, as an HOA board member or a member of the Environmental Control Committee for a copy. Before you engage a contractor, please submit a request to the ECC for approval, to ensure that your new fence will conform to the existing policy.
