Rotary Invitational Track Meet

The Rotary Club of Brookings-Harbor has been hosting the Rotary Invitational Track Meet for more years than any current club member can remember.
The meet typically involves 10 to 15 teams from high schools in southwestern Oregon and northern California, competing for a day at Brookings-Harbor High School.
The meet details are organized by the Brookings-Harbor High School athletics department. Rotary volunteers serve as the meet officials and judges.
A dozen prep track teams competed in the annual Rotary Invitational at Brookings-Harbor High School on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Complete results are posted at www.athletic.net/trackandfield/MeetResults.aspx?Meet=62565.
Joining the Brookings-Harbor Bruins were teams from Arcata, Del Norte, McKinleyville and South Fork, in California, and Gold Beach, Pacific, Bandon, Coquille, Myrtle Point, Illinois Valley and New Hope Christian in Oregon.
The Rotary Club of Brookings-Harbor hosts the event every year, providing volunteers for the field events, hospitality for the coaches, and funding the medals and ribbons for the event.
Additional volunteers are always welcome to help make the meet a success. To help with the day, please contact Rotary project chair Charles Kocher, (541) 469-3123.
