Late July 2011, WikiSensor tested the bêta version of its WikiSensor dosimeter in a laboratory of external dosimetry.

Our application on this video (shot from outside the experimentation room) counts the number of pixels "burnt" (hit) by the radioactive waves.

  • Source used: Cobalt
  • Dose rate: 50 microsieverts per hour
  • Integration time: 1 second

After these experiments, we have concluded that:
  • WikiSensor dosimeter is certainly sensitive with a threshold of 5 microsieverts per hour and probably sensitive between 1 and 5 microsieverts per hour.
  • The ideal measurement integration time is about 30 seconds. WikiSensor dosimeter is pre-set for a 30 seconds integration time. Users can choose themselves this data integration time (by extending it to be sensitive below 5 microsieverts per hour).
For detailed experimentation and conclusions, you can download the PDF document attached (in French).
