Advanced Math Topics with Trig A

Grade:  11, 12
Year Credits: 5
Prerequisite: Algebra 2
Graduation Requirement:  Mathematics

Advanced Math Topics with Trig is designed for junior and senior students. Enrollment in advanced mathematics with trigonometry is predicated on student’s prior knowledge in algebra 2. Students in this course will have regular opportunities to use a graphing calculator to explore higher-level concepts.

In this course students will examine functions, trigonometry, discrete math, data analysis and limits, in addition to providing an introduction to pre-calculus. Advanced mathematics with trigonometry is modular based, meaning it is taught in distinct units throughout the school year. This course will strengthen student’s conceptual understanding of mathematical reasoning based on the basic math core sequence. Familiarity with taught concepts is germane for students intending to study calculus, physics, and engineering.
