Active Steps

Is a programme to support and motivate people to lead healthier, more active lives. The main aim is to encourage small changes in your lifestyle to positively impact your health and wellbeing. Active Steps can help by supporting you to make changes in your lifestyle. We have a range of activities to support you to be more active or eat a healthier, more balanced diet. Our activities are suitable for all levels of fitness. The process starts with an initial one-to-one chat to find out more about you.  From there, we can look at activities together which may interest you and we can support you to take the first step towards a healthier lifestyle.

Green Gym


This is an alternative to going to a conventional gym with treadmills and weights. Each session gives you a full body work out while carrying out garden work, planting and conservation work, with the aim of building a community garden between the Calders and the canal. It does not matter how physically active you currently are or how much gardening experience you have we can cater for every ability; we will find activities for everyone

 


Pilates


This class improves posture & creates a balanced, strong, toned, lean & flexible physique. Through use of functional exercise, pilates provides optimal body efficiency in everyday living, helps alleviate back pain & helps to rehabilitate injuries.  It is an effective & safe exercise method for everyone, even those with disabilities. People must complete the beginners programme, please discuss with Ashley.


Yoga

A class where you can relax, stretch & de-stress whilst improving your posture & flexibility.  This is a mixed ability class, open to beginners & those who have taken yoga classes before.

 

 

Class Bookings

Places in classes are limited so must be booked.

Places are not automatically renewed if you have attended a class previously.
