Post date: Nov 10, 2014 10:44:12 PM

On December 10, 2014 Whatcom County Health Department and Whatcom Conservation District will be hosting a free workshop for landowners with septic systems in the Terrell Creek watershed. The workshop will be held at Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU) Education Center, 5659 Barrett Road, Ferndale from 6:00 P.M.to 8:00 P.M. Please visit www.chumsofterrellcreek.org/workshops or call Aneka Sweeney at (360) 354-2035 x103 to register for the workshop.

Topics covered will include how septic systems work, homeowner responsibilities for operation and maintenance, and how to inspect a system. Learning about your septic system will not only help you stay in compliance with regulations and improve water quality, but can also save you money. Depending on the type of system, landowners may become certified to inspect their own system following this workshop. For Terrell Creek systems only, the first 25 participants whose system is inspected by a licensed O&M Specialist will receive a $100 rebate towards the cost of that inspection.
