County Crews Clean Stormwater Pipes

Whatcom County Public Works Maintenance and Operations staff used a vactor truck to clean catch basins and stormwater pipes along Birch Bay Drive October 5th - 10th. Cleaning occurred north of Lora Lane and was completed at the request of BBWARM as a preventative measure before winter storms. Cleaning catch basins and stormwater pipes leading to Birch Bay also removes accumulated sediment and pollutants before they reach the bay.
