Submission Tips, Suggestions, and Directions

Directions for submitting to WGU evaluation for review and transferring to Pearson.

Directions for submitting to Pearson are located in the FE Handbook Here.

Hello Teacher Candidates,

We hope you are doing well and have enjoyed your DT experience. We wanted to bring the Pearson scoring window deadlines and submission tips to your attention as you prepare your edTPA for official scoring to Pearson.

We often receive questions about the scoring deadlines and if these are hard deadlines. The answer is simply, yes. Pearson has a set deadline of 11:59 PM PT on the date of scoring and if it is not met, your work would fall into the next scoring window.

This is very important to think about and why we advise you to submit your work to Pearson at least 3 days prior to the Pearson deadline. This is extremely important since there often are technical glitches, problems with files, etc. Teacher Success desires to support you but is only available until 5 PM MT on weekdays, which includes the day of Pearson’s scoring deadline. If problems arise, we want you to be supported.  Waiting until the day of the scoring window to submit to Pearson may result in you not having the support needed and not getting your edTPA portfolio submitted by the scoring window deadline. So you must plan ahead and submit days BEFORE the scoring window day to avoid frustration.  Please know that many other universities besides WGU have the same scoring window deadlines so submitting to Pearson on the day of the scoring window can cause a bottleneck with the other thousands of submissions taking place.

With the importance of submitting to Pearson at least 3 days early, as stated above, this also means submitting for review and feedback early too. It is highly recommended to submit your work at least 2 weeks prior to the Pearson deadline window. This will allow ample time to receive feedback, make revisions, and submit to again as needed.

It is also important to know that if you choose to pay out of pocket for your Pearson submission instead of an earned voucher through a successful review, you cannot be reimbursed by WGU or if you fail to use the voucher due to technical problems.

We are here to support you with a successful submission to Pearson!  Plan ahead, get it submitted early!

Please let us know if you have any questions.
