The Wake Forest Rowing Club is an entirely student-run organization which was founded in 1998. For the 15 years that the team has been competing at the club level, we have consistently been a serious competitor in regattas throughout the southeast, as well as at the national level. As the club grows, we will continue to strive for excellence both on and off the water. We are proud of our student leadership, and of the fact that everything we have achieved is a result of team members' hard work and motivation. We strongly encourage potential rowers, alumni, and anyone else who has questions about the program to contact one of the members of the executive board.
What a great season. Thank you to everyone who made the Spring such a success for all of us. WFRC really appreciates it all.
WFRC finished up its season in Oak Ridge, TN with the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Associations, Championship Regatta. We came to race more boats than we have seated at this regatta in the past four years and gave a great showing in each category. Check out the Schedule and Results
page for the full recap.
Here are the race cue times for our boats, thanks to Kendra Callwood:
- Novice Men 4+, heats – 34:50
- Novice Women 8+, heats – 1:27:34
- Varsity Women 4+, heats – 3:16:17
- Varsity Mens 4+, heats – 3:59:58
- Varsity Mens 4+, semifinal – 8:51:37
- Varsity Women 8+, C Final – 9:57:50
I am proud to be leaving this club in such a great position and I cannot wait to see what the club does next season. Congrats to everyone who was a part of this season and congrats to the Novices on their new Varsity status.
Good luck next year, WFRC.
