GOOD MORNING WILLIAM FLOYD MIDDLE SCHOOL

FINAL EXAMS CONTINUE THIS WEEK.   WE HAVE 1/2 DAYS ON MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.  A COPY OF THE FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE CAN BE FOUND IN THE FLYER FOLDER LOCATED ABOVE.  THERE IS NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS ON FRIDAY.


REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS THAT WE WILL BE ADHERING TO THE DRESS CODE LOCATED IN THE WFMS STUDENT HANDBOOK.


Today's announcements are:
1.    Attention all 8th graders - if you are playing a Fall Sport, you must have a current valid sports physical.  HS Football starts on August 14.  All other HS Sports start on August 21.
2.    Yearbooks will be on sale this Thursday and Friday for $35.00 cash.  8th graders only may purchase on Thursday.  6th and 7th graders may purchase on Friday if there are any remaining.

- If you forgot an item at home and someone brings it in you will not be called out of class. Stop at the attendance office during lunch or between classes.

Social Activities • Social activities such as dances, games, plays, end of year events, etc., are sponsored by a school organization. 

Students are in good standing if 30 days prior to an event:  

1.    They have not served an In-School Suspension or an Out of School Suspension

2.    They have not had 2 or more referrals resulting in a consequence 
3.    They do not have outstanding assignments, they have not been excused from participating in Physical Education 

4.    They do not have 3 or more lateness’ to class or school 

5.    They do not have 3 or more unverified absences or verified illegal absences

In regards to the end of year picnic if a student cannot participate in gym they cannot attend the picnic.

6. Electronic devices are prohibited in the building, including ear buds & phones.

6.    The last meeting for Woodworking Club is today after school.
7.    Attention Mr. Trask's Guitar Club will meet today after school in room 500.  This is our last meeting for the year. BE THERE!

6.    On Monday, June 12 we will be having our final "Student Bistro".  The theme will be "A Day at the Ball Park".  The cost will be $10 colonial cash which will allow you to attend this wonderful event. Yes you heard right only $10 colonial case for a ticket.  The Bistro will be st up in the ISS room, formerly the teacher's lounge and you will be served by teachers and staff.  Hot Pretzels, Hot Dogs, Chili, melted hot cheese, drinks and cool desserts, along with music and great ambiance. Tickets will be sold starting Monday, June 5 during your lunch period.  You do not want to miss out on this great event.  Space is limited so reserve your spot as soon as possible.

REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS THAT WE WILL BE ADHERING TO THE DRESS CODE LOCATED IN THE WFMS STUDENT HANDBOOK.
NO CELL PHONE USE IS PERMITTED IN THE CAFETERIA.

Today's announcements are:
1.    For more information regarding the WFSD Family Support Center, please see the flyer link at the top of this page, it is the flyer titled Parent to Parent.
4.    This is a reminder for student eligibility to Attend the End of Year Activities.

The following information is taken directly from the WFMS Student Handbook.

Social Activities • Social activities such as dances, games, plays, end of year events, etc., are sponsored by a school organization. 

Students are in good standing if 30 days prior to an event:  

1.    They have not served an In-School Suspension or an Out of School Suspension

2.    They have not had 2 or more referrals resulting in a consequence 
3.    They do not have outstanding assignments, they have not been excused from participating in Physical Education 

4.    They do not have 3 or more lateness’ to class or school 

5.    They do not have 3 or more unverified absences or verified illegal absences

In regards to the end of year picnic if a student cannot participate in gym they cannot attend the picnic.
5.    Attention all 8th graders - if you are playing a Fall Sport, you must have a current valid sports physical.  HS Football starts on August 14.  All other HS Sports start on August 21.
6.    Attention 8th graders - The 8th grade dance is on Friday, June 9 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.  Tickets are on sale now in the grade level office for $5.00 and 5 colonial cash.
7.    Start saving that Colonial Cash!  The summer basket raffle is coming!  Look for the summer baskets, which will be raffled off on Friday, June 9.  They will be displayed in the glass cases by the cafeteria!
8.    On Monday, June 12 we will be having our final "Student Bistro".  The theme will be "A Day at the Ball Park".  The cost will be $10 colonial cash which will allow you to attend this wonderful event. Yes you heard right only $10 colonial case for a ticket.  The Bistro will be st up in the ISS room, formerly the teacher's lounge and you will be served by teachers and staff.  Hot Pretzels, Hot Dogs, Chili, melted hot cheese, drinks and cool desserts, along with music and great ambiance. Tickets will be sold starting Monday, June 5 during your lunch period.  You do not want to miss out on this great event.  Space is limited so reserve your spot as soon as possible.
9.    REMINDER: THURSDAY, 6/8, IS THE LAST DAY OF THE ADVANTAGE PROGRAM! Don't miss out on the end of year party, we hope to see you all there!
10.   Attention girl volleyball players!!  There will be a volleyball open gym in the high school main gym today, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, please do your best to attend!!
11.   Mr. Mozer's Science Research Club will meet today after school in room 303.
12.   The girls lacrosse team won their last game vs. Bellport, 15-7.  Kaitlyn Marx had 4 goals, Kayla Ireland had 3 goals, Shannon McLoughlin, Olivia Iodice, Dana Kucera-Doherty each had 2 goals and Rachel Zummo, Julia Mitterada had 1 goal each.
13.   All Math Olympiads - our final meeting will be today after school.  I hope all can attend, if you can't please see Mrs. Molini.
14.   Attention all 6th grade Orchestra members. Since you have your picnic on Friday you will do your playing final on Thursday.  The schedule is as follows:
            2nd period - Violin B
            3rd period - Viola
            5th period - Cello and Bass
            8th period - Violin A
All must attend.
15.   Tickets for the grade level picnic are on sale now for $5.00 and 10 colonial cash.
        6th grade picnic is Friday, June 9 and tickets are on sale in Guidance Office.
        7th grade picnic is Thursday, June 15 and tickets are on sale in room 408.
        8th grade picnic is Friday, June 16 and tickets are on sale in the Grade Level Office.
16.   There will be a teachers union meeting on Friday, June 9 in room 111.
17.   The school store will be open today and Friday.

- The cafeteria serves breakfast from 7:40-8:10. A pass from the Main Office or Cafeteria is required to get off the bus early and you must get breakfast before you go to your locker.

- WFMS collects Box Tops for Education. Please bring in as many as you can to help raise money for our school.

- Lost & found is located in the back of the cafeteria.

- If you forgot an item at home and someone brings it in you will not be called out of class. Stop at the attendance office during lunch or between classes.

Reminders to all students

1. There is no eating or drinking on our school buses or in classrooms.

2. You are never able to touch or slap another individual at WFMS. Those caught engaging in this behavior will receive consequences. 

3. Backpacks are not permitted throughout the school day. 

4. If you are driven to school you must exit your car on the right. 

5. Appropriate apparel is required at WFMS. Short skirts, short shorts & belly shirts are not permitted. 

6. Electronic devices are prohibited in the building, including ear buds & phones.

12.   All chorus members: please plan on staying after school today until the 3:23 bus for a special performance by the High School Select Choir! Meet in the chorus room at 2:30! All chorus members especially 8th graders should attend!
13.   Congratulations to the Jazz Band on a fantastic performance at last night's "Jazz in June" concert. Great Job!  There is no Jazz Band rehearsal after school today.
