Attention Seniors: Scholarship applications are now on Naviance. Be sure to get your scholarship number and instructions for accessing the applications at the Counseling Center.

Registration for the Advanced Placement Exams has now begun. The test fees are $94.00 per exam. Checks or money orders should be made payable to WFSD. All AP students must complete and return the AP Exam Registration form along with the appropriate payment to the High School Main Office NO LATER THAN Friday,

February 2, 2018.

Did one of your students, faculty or staff members do something wonderful this past month? Please take a moment to recognize this act by nominating him or her for student of the month or faculty/staff member of the month.

We need nominations for students from 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Please submit all forms in blue or black pen only.

Just as students deserve to be recognized, teachers and staff do as well. Please take a moment to stop by any Assistant Principal’s Office to pick up a form to nominate a teacher or staff member who has had an impact on you in a positive way.

Please drop off all nominations to the 1 West Office.

Attention All Sophomores: Are you interested in applying for one of the CTE programs in Automotive, Barbering, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Culinary, Medical Assisting or Small Engines? If so, please pick up an application from your guidance counselor, Chairperson’s Office or 3 West. The application deadline is Thursday, February 15. Don’t wait…seating is limited for all programs!

Attention Seniors: The Counseling Center will be hosting its annual Onsite College Admissions Day, on Tuesday, February 6! Apply to college, meet with a college representative, and receive a decision on the spot! Come to the Counseling Center for details. Appointments must be made no later than February 1.

All students taking the Earth Science Regents in January MUST take the lab practical this week in Room 249 starting at 2:15.

The Rotary Club will be meeting soon to select the next Rotary Student of the Month. Rotary students should:

· Be positive representatives of their schools

· Demonstrate academic achievement

· Display characteristics of good citizenship

· Be involved in the school/community

Please nominate a 12th grade student who possesses these qualities and characteristics and is worthy of the honor. The nomination forms are located in the Main Office, the Library, or any of the Assistant Principal’s Offices. For the first Rotary Student of the Month, please refer to your email for the attached Rotary nomination form and turn it in to the 1 East Office.

This week, all Physical Education after school credit recovery will meet in Room 155.

The next History Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 17, in the School Museum.

Attention students with parking passes: Blue parking passes must be renewed and exchanged for red parking passes before January 29. Applications are available in the 1 West, 1 East and 2 West Offices. You must be a graduating senior with a valid Class D driver’s license, registration and insurance card to get a parking sticker.

Are you thinking about going to the Prom this June? Make sure you are in good standing, which means on track to graduate. You can have no more than 18 absences in a full-year course and no more than 9 in a half-year course. You must also attend one of the mandatory Prom Lawyer Meetings!
