Two goals from junior Ryan Nolte in the first period were enough for the Canton High School hockey team to capture a key non-league road win against the Bishop Feehan Shamrocks, 3-0. Quinn Gibbs would make 14 saves and earn his fifth shutout of the season.

Nolte's first goal came on the powerplay, as he put home a rebound from a Nick Allen point shot. Minutes later, after some nice backchecking by linemates Timmy Kelleher and Johnny Hagan, Nolte would take the puck end to end and finish off a great rush with a short side wrist shot to extend the lead to two.

Some tight defensive play kept the score at 2-0 until the final minute, when Owen Lehane would score an empty net goal.

The win moves the Bulldogs to within one point of a postseason birth, at 8-1-4. Next, Canton returns to Hockomock League play versus Taunton on Wednesday at Alexio Arena.
