It took over three seasons, but defenseman Brad Murphy's first goal could not have come at a better time. The senior captain continued his outstanding season with a goal and an assist, leading the Canton High School Bulldogs to a 5-0 road victory over Davenport Division rivals North Attleboro.

In the first period, the Bulldogs set the pace of play, controlling the puck and time of possession in the offensive zone. Several scoring chances were turned away by the Red Rocketeer goaltender, and Canton ended the period with a 15-3 shot advantage, but no goals to show for it.

Even with the impressive first period, the second period saw more improved Bulldogs play, outshooting North Attleboro 27-0 in the next 15 minutes. Canton would finally get on the board on the powerplay midway through the period. Owen Lehane would make a cross-ice pass to Ryan Nolte, who fired a wrist shot on net where Johnny Hagan would collect the rebound and shoot it past the North goaltender for the 1-0 lead, which is how the period would end.

Persistence would pay off in the third, as the Bulldogs would finally break through with four goals in the final period. Within the first two minutes, Murphy would net his first goal on a wrist shot from the blue line. Next, it was Bubba McNeice's turn, who would fire home a rebound after some hard work by linemates Jack Goyetch and Mike Dadasis would result in a loose puck finding McNeice's stick in the slot. Nolte would be the next Canton player to add to the lead, putting home a rebound off a Lehane point shot. And with less than two minutes left in the game, Goyetch would redirect a Murphy wrist shot for the final Bulldogs goal.

The win was Canton's seventh of the season (7-1-4) and improved their Hockomock League record to 5-0. Next up is a return trip to the New England Sports Village on Saturday to take on Bishop Feehan in a non-league matchup at 2:00 PM.
