Welcome to Title Reading & Math!

Title I is a federally funded program designed to assist students who need a little extra help with reading and/or math.
It is not a Special Education program, and does not replace regular classroom instruction.  The Title I teachers communicate regularly and directly with the classroom teachers so that instruction is consistent, relevant, and on-track.

The guiding principle behind Title services is to help students where they need help the most, increasing their skills and understanding so that they can function successfully in the regular classroom.  Instruction is either small-group or one-on-one, and is tailored to meet the needs of individual students.  Title teachers supplement classroom instruction with lessons and activities that develop the skills necessary to progress in reading and math.

Title I originated in the 1965 Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and serves over 11 million students in more than 45,000 schools.
