Our Mission

West Sacramento Early College Prep Charter School (West Sac Prep) is a tuition-free, public school and is designed to provide exceptional learning opportunities that will empower students to excel inside and outside of school.  By preparing all students for success in college and beyond in an increasingly global workplace, West Sac Prep aims at creating a community of motivated, creative, life-long learners.

A Different Kind of School

Several characteristics at West Sacramento Early College Prep Charter School create a unique setting, unlike any other:

  • Focus on 21st Century skills: collaboration, communication, presentation, etc.
  • Vibrant connection with UC Davis and Sacramento City College
  • Opportunities to take Sacramento City College classes for dual credit starting in 9th grade
  • Strong technology integration
  • Academic and mental health counselors who are both fluent in Spanish and English
  • Sense of community within classrooms and throughout the school

  • West Sac Prep Students Recognized By Mayor Cabaldon

    City Council Meeting 6/4/14

Six West Sac Prep students were recognized by Mayor Cabaldon and the rest of the West Sacramento City Council during the city council meeting on June 4th, 2014 for their dedication and hard work in spending a total of 9 hours after school on three consecutive Fridays to train to be able to help local West Sac businesses build an online presence.

The students now have an opportunity to spend their summer in paid internships set up by the Mayor's office and the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce to continue their training with these skills.
