Message from the Principal
Welcome to the last newsletter of the term!
It has been a shorter term than usual with a lot of sickness for many families so take a well earned break and rest up over the next two weeks. Due to the short term, we have decided to send home our parent survey at the start of Term 4 so we will ask you to check children’s bags then. We do want to hear your ideas and thoughts as this helps us to make plans and changes to our current practices.
Spring is certainly in the air! We have had some pet lambs come to school recently much to the children’s delight. Children have also been observing signs of Spring around the school - we can’t wait for the Friendship tree to have full coverage again.
Just a reminder to dig out your sunhats over the school break ready for Term 4. Weston School’s Sunsmart policy requires children to wear our school bucket hat in both Terms 1 and 4. If children do not have a hat to wear they will be restricted to playing in shaded areas. Thanks for your support with this.
The success of our Year 7 & 8 Camp has been a great end to the term. Some photos from camp will be shared in our Assembly today, also check out the wonderful photos below. Thank you again to Caron and Sheree for a well organised and run camp. Also to our parent helpers who were an amazing support. We were very fortunate to have many offers of help for camp - it truly is a very special and memorable time for all involved!
We have lots to look forward to in Term 4 so we will see you back well rested and ready for learning on October 10th.
WELCOME to Weston School

Roald Dahl Character Dress Up Day
This was a fun day to celebrate Roald Dahl's 100th Birthday. There was a huge variety of costumes and it was evident children had put a lot of time and effort into these!
Year 7 and 8 Camp - Wainui
Once again wonderful children to take on camp. So appreciative of the parents who joined us, thanks also to those who offered. Everyone had a great time….what goes on camp stays on camp!!!
Some of our students from Tuatara class helped with planting our Paper for Trees trees this week.
Thank you to The Lion Foundation - South, our local sponsors!
Thanks to Dr Dave for coming and sharing his chemistry expertise. The chromatography resulted in some wonderful colourful patterns from ordinary felt pens. Once again Dr Dave was setting teachers alight (literally)!!!
