Message from the Acting Principal

Kia ora e te whānau…

What a fabulous evening we had for the fireworks! Thank you again to the fireworks committee - you are the driving force! Thanks also to the parent helpers, teachers and students who all did their part to make the night such a success. The fireworks seems to get bigger and better every year!

We were also so fortunate weather wise for the athletics this week.  It was great to see so many families come and support this event. We have included lots of photos for those who were unable to make it.  I’m sure you had tired children come home from school on Tuesday afternoon!

You will have received your child’s school photographs - a big thanks to Ian Cope for his patience and organisation.

We hope you are able to join in the Community Victorian Heritage Celebrations from November 11th -15th. Find out more about what is on at This will support your child’s learning at school over the coming weeks.

Our senior children have Tech at OIS to look forward to next week then North Otago Athletics are planned for 23rd November. Junior children will have a Bible in Schools break up at the Weston Church on the 23rd, Seniors will have theirs on 1 December - so there is a lot to look forward to.

Nga mihi

  • Paper4Trees

  • Paper4trees is the largest school-based recycling programme of its type in the country.  Paper4trees provides us with the resources and equipment needed to set up our own in-house practical paper & cardboard recycling systems.

  • We are asked to record our paper & cardboard recycling throughout the year; Paper4trees then rewards us with eco-sourced native plants for our efforts!

We received 11 plants.

It’s that time again to rummage around in your drawers and toy boxes and bring into School /Kindergarten/Creche/Playcentre any unwanted mobile phones you may have at home.

It is estimated that each year up to three million phones become obsolete in NZ, of those only 2% are recycled.

Phones collected help our School/Kindergarten/Creche/Playcentre gain valuable rewards and the environment benefits as well keeping our landfills free of mobile phones and their array of hazardous toxic substances.

Please drop any unwanted mobile phones you may have in the collection box in the reception area at School /Kindergarten/Creche/Playcentre.
