Gigatown Film Festival and Awards Night
12 Year 7/8 Weston students (Courtney Lockerbie, Sam Marshall, Kayleigh Gill, Jason Black, Blake King, Jayden Pope, Storm Voyce McCulloch, Jessica Wouters, Safiya Hunter, Bailey Collins, Brooklyn Hunter and Fin Carnell) had 4 sessions with film making experts Maddie Maxwell and Bridget Ellis who are both freelance film co-ordinators. Together with the children, they created a short film depicting what a day in the life of a gigabit connected school in Gigatown will be like, what will change in the school and the classroom with gigabit connected services, and how will it enhance the way they learn? Students, teachers and supporters went to the Gigatown Kids in Oamaru Film Festival awards.
Weston got the "People's Choice award" and the "Best #Gigatown Movie".
