What been happening at Weston School

Celebrating Matariki

Some photos showing our Weston kids celebrating Matariki, Maori New Year- a time for preparing the garden for spring (planting garlic), telling stories and learning new crafts (limestone carving) and weaving.  Many thanks to Linda Wilson for helping with the planting and carving and to Joshua Fromont and Jo Wilson for helping with the weaving.

Linda has masterminded the buying of tools for limestone carving - we have bought all these tools with the money raised from selling our garlic in February. Linda will be introducing many of our children to carving over the next few weeks.
