This up and coming soccer season Challenger Sports will again be working with the West Islip Soccer Club to provide high level coaches during the spring soccer season. Their main aim is to build and develop a good relationship with the West Islip community and to make sure that each family have FUN and learn this beautiful game.
This Spring there will be 2 members of the Challenger Sports staff working in West Islip. Joining the soccer team are Tom Wiffen, 25 from England and Charlene Bell, 26 from Northern Island. Both Tom and Charlene have been working in New England over the past few years and will be their first time moving to Long Island.
As anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting a British Soccer coach or has had them teach their child, they will tell you that they are very polite and well mannered. They are also well accustomed to the American way of life after having spent previous years with many different/fun American families during their travels.
Tom and Charlene will arrive into town on Sunday March 15th and will be here in West Islip right through until the May 22nd. To help Tom and Charlene settle into the community Challenger Sports typically have their staff stay with a host family during their time with the club. This is like a substitute family for their loved ones back home and all they ask is that you provide a bed; showering facilities; laundry facilities and meals (coaches are flexible and can work round your home schedule).
At the moment they have a few host families that have been lined up in neighboring towns but they are in need of a few more to share out the season. So with this they would like to offer the opportunity for some new host families to take Tom and Charlene into their home for a short period.
So if there is anyone out there that has room for a responsible and polite British lad this would be greatly appreciated. You wouldn't have to host for the entire period, perhaps 1-2 weeks to help break up the season.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this and if you are
interested and want to find out more information then please contact Matt
Bowman at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 401-213-0466.
The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Organization (ENYYSA) has rescheduled this class for Fri, Mar 13.
The West Islip Soccer Club would like to extend an invitation to all WISC coaches to further broaden their coaching knowledge by offering the US Soccer "F" course to our coaches at no charge to them.
The F course has been rescheduled for:
Friday March 13
