All students and parents must participate in the Protection Plan for their Chromebook to cover costs if the device is accidentally broken or damaged. The cost of the Protection Plan is $20 annually per device and is nonrefundable. While there is no cost for the use of the Chromebook, it is imperative that the issued Chromebook be maintained and handled in a responsible way. The Protection Plan safeguards you against accidental damage, such as unintentional liquid spills, drops, falls and/or other collisions. Please keep in mind that this is for the device only, not for the case that was provided when the device was issued.
The protection program does not cover misuse, neglect, loss, theft or intentional damage. Students will be responsible for the entire cost of repairs or replacement to computing devices damaged through student misuse, neglect, intentional damage or loss.
A check for $20 payable to "West Essex Regional School District" can be brought to one of the informational sessions held in August or sent directly to the high school main office. Please note "Chromebook" and child's name on the memo line.
