Welcome to Mrs. Archambo's webpage.  I provide interventions to students who struggle with reading and writing.  This means that when students are identified as struggling with reading or writing by their classroom teacher, they are referred to Response to Intervention (RtI) team which then decides how to intervene before the student falls further behind.  I provide additional small group reading instruction to some of these students.  During the other half of my day, I provide a more specialized intervention called Reading Recovery.  Reading Recovery is provided for the most struggling first grade students.  I work with one student at a time for 30 minutes daily for no more than 20 weeks.  Reading Recovery has been around for more than 30 years and has extensive data to support its effectiveness.
