Whether working or working out, busy Nashville families need quality care for their preschoolers.  Flexibility in schedules and readiness for kindergarten are a necessary combination for young parents.

Children’s Christian Center, a ministry of West End Church of Christ, is conveniently located in the midtown area and has often been called by a parents “the best kept secret in Nashville.”  The secret is out now that the preschool has earned the gold standard of national accreditation.  It is a rigorous process set out by the National Association of Young Children (NAEYC).

The NAEYC Accreditation system has set voluntary professional standards for programs for young children since 1985.  In September 2006, the Association revised program standards and criteria to introduce a new level of quality, accountability, and service for parents and children in child care programs.  The standards reflect the latest research and best practices in early childhood education and development. NAEYC is committed to utilizing the newest studies and analysis on positive child outcomes to ensure young children continue receiving the highest-quality care and education possible.
To earn NAEYC accreditation, Children’s Christian Center completed an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related accreditation criteria. The preschool received NAEYC accreditation after an on-site visit by NAEYC assessors to ensure that the program meets each of the ten NAEYC program standards. NAEYC-accredited programs are also subject to unannounced visits during their accreditation, which lasts for five years.

In the over 25 years since NAEYC accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education. More than 7000 programs are currently accredited by the NAEYC. This is approximately 8 percent of all preschools and other early childhood programs. The state of Tennessee has 120 programs with this prestigious accreditation. Children’s Christian Center is now one of only eleven accredited programs in Davidson County.

The preschool is conveniently located at 3534 West End Avenue and has limited fall enrollment availability. Hours of operation are 7:30 until 5:30. The preschool can be contacted at 615-269-4630.
