Parent Resources

Parent Tool Kit

Children aren't usually born with instructions - I know as a parent, it is good to know what what you child is working on as well as to learn helpful hints on how to help out at each developmental stage.  The Parent Toolkit is a site that does just that.  Please take some time to check it out!

Is It Appropriate for My Child?
Have you ever wondered if a movie or a game is appropriate for your child?  When we show movies or use media at Saccarappa School, we use the website Common Sense Media.  Common Sense Media reviews all types of media both from their own perspective as well as that of parents and children.

Ready Rosie is an early educational tool that helps parents learn to engage in meaningful learning activities with their children.  "Through generous funding from the Sam L. Cohen Foundation, the United Way of Greater Portland and community partners have come together to bring ReadyRosie to parents, caregivers, teachers, administrators, and in- home family support providers serving Westbrook, South Portland or Portland."  Click the link below and see if Ready Rosie is for you!
