You know that pasta you didn't finish the other night at Usdan? It gets trucked away to an incinerator along with all of the other garbage.
Come this Wednesday night at 10 pm to Earth House (on the corner of high and lawn) to the first Composting Committee Meeting of the fall to help change that! We will be continuing our work toward the implementation of a composting system in Usdan and other dining halls on campus. Also, we will be building upon our successful student-run composting system, allowing over 800 students to compost the food waste from their apartments and houses.

Why? Composting is sexy!
As the sun returns for the Spring and the air begins to warm, that also means that composting is back! You can now begin emptying your composting bucket into the composting machines. In under a month of operation, thanks to you, we were able to compost almost 300 gallons of food waste!
Unfortunately, do to heavy ice and snow, we had two composting machines break this winter. Please don't try to use (because it won't work) the composting machine between Fountain Ave and Pine St. and the machine next to Hewitt. You can find a map of the composting machines here. Fortunately, we have replacements coming soon, along with a new machine that will be next to the Bayit! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
