Ms. Hill's Sixth Grade Resource Room Webpage

Students in the cross-categorical resource program are assessed based on the goals written within their Individual Education Plans (IEP). Their progress is monitored and reviewed regularly. Progress is also reported at the end of each grading period; attached to the grade level report card. 

During the first quarter we will be working on...


This year, sixth grade resource students receiving math services will have co-taught math. This means students will spend 100 minutes per day in a classroom with both the resource and general education teachers; Ms. Hill and Ms. Ross. 

While we will work on sixth grade math concepts using the CMP3 math program, we will also work to master our IEP math goals. Multi-digit multiplication as well as long division will also be addressed during small groups. This will most often occur during the second hour of math during intervention time. 


Within the resource room, we will improve our reading decoding and comprehension skills through the use of the sixth grade Harcourt curriculum. We will also have scheduled intervention times to address IEP needs.


Within the resource room, we will learn and use the writing process to produce narratives, arguments and explanatory/informative writing pieces at the sixth grade level. This will be accomplished through the use of the Step Up to Writing and ACT NOW programs. We will publish at least 2 writing pieces per quarter within the library computer lab.
