Homework Assignments

Writing For writing we will start writing by understanding that when we speak it can also be recognized in print. We will start writing 3 word sentences and count words in sentences and even count syllables and practice writing our names correctly. We will make signs to hang up in our classroom. Ongoing until mastered. 
Math Math homework sheets will be sent home every Wednesday starting August 23rd.For Math Learning we will practice counting to 30, If you want to do it at home then ....if your child can do this, then move on to the next 10 numbers. If they can count to 40, move on up, etc. You can also practice asking your child what is one more than a given number. Use counters while doing this. Children can also practice writing their numbers to 10. We will also be naming and/or reviewing basic shapes, learning the word attribute, sorting, and much more. ongoing until mastered 
Reading  In the first 3 weeks of school we will be letter Mm, Ss, and Rr. We will focus on listening for the sound at the beginning and ending of words, we will be able to discriminate between all 3. We will learn sight words: a and I. We will practice speaking in complete sentences,we will answer questions to signify understanding of fiction read alouds and learn the meaning of predicting in them as well.  ongoing until mastered
