Moon Valley Park Field Trip

Update 10/18 1:38...we will have to reschedule this field trip due to construction at the park.  I will update the info. and let everyone know the details as soon as it has been rescheduled

The third grade will be going to Moon Valley Park on a date to be determined soon.  We will be leaving at 9:30 a.m., walking to the park, and will be leaving the park to walk back to school around 12:30 p.m.  We will be eating lunch at the park so your child will need to bring a sack lunch for that day.  Paper lunch bags and disposable water bottles are best then your child doesn’t need to worry about keeping track of items and getting them back to school.  If you would like to join us for our picnic, please bring a sack lunch for yourself as well.

Welcome Buccaneers!

I am so happy to welcome you to our classroom!  Third grade is a very busy year, filled with lots of fun and learning!   I am very excited about all we have planned for this year, and I look forward to working with each of you.  I hope that you will be able to join us for a “Back to School Open House” on Thursday, 8/3 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity to see your classroom and meet your teacher in an informal setting.

For those of you who would like to take advantage of the “Back to School” sales, here is a list of suggested donations that will be used in the 3rd grade.

Back to School Supplies

Pencil box (traditional, plastic type – no pouches)

Crayons (16 count)

1 box each, #2 pencils & cap erasers

Colored pencils-16 count (we use these daily)

At least 5 glue sticks

Student scissors

1, 3-ring binder (dark blue, 1 ½ inch)

1 package of tabbed, 3-ring dividers

1 orange heavy duty pocket folder with no prongs

1 yellow heavy duty pocket folder with prongs

4, 100-page composition books (with a plain, sturdy cover)

2 highlighters & 2 dry erase markers

3x3 sticky notes (2 packages)

1 box facial tissues & 1 container of cleaning wipes

No markers please J

It is not necessary to label items individually as I will have labels for the folders and composition books and we share all of the consumable supplies as a classroom community.  You may write your child’s name on their pencil box with a Sharpie if you like.  The students will keep these in their desks.  Please feel free to bring in donations during back to school night or on the first day of school.  Please do not fill pencil boxes with items, as we will do that as a class on the first day.
