Home Welcome to 2017-2018 School Year

                    My Art Curriculum  Overview

The five major art objectives are:

*Organizing and developing artistic ideas by working with different materials, tools and techniques.

*Planning, developing and revising artistic ideas to improve our artwork.

*Evaluating our artwork to share our understanding.

*Relating our art ideas to other artist past and present, other cultures from around the world.

*Presenting and protecting our artwork in a way to preserve and display.

These objectives follow the state and national visual art standards.

As a core subject area, I am required to assess assignments and assign grades.  My grading scale

aligns with our school grading scale.

K-2 students receive O, S+, S, S- and N’s on assignments

3rd -8th grade students receive A, B, C, D and F’s assigned by the percentage points they earn on each                assignments.

Students earn points in the following areas:

Daily points                                      5pts.

Quizzes                                         5-25 pts.

Writing Assignments                 10-25pts.

 Projects                                   25-100pts.

We present our artwork by displaying it around the school.  We have 2 school art shows for students          k-5th grade. One in the winter and one in the spring.  We participate in the district art show for students                 K-8th grade.   As opportunities arise, we share our work in the community.
