In the Wenatchee School District we are committed to continuous improvement and with this in mind we are implementing a K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) and Project Based Learning (PBL) initiative.
Wenatchee Learns Strategy:
Integrate subject areas in ways that allow students to apply what they are learning to projects and real-world challenges.
Our intent, with community and third party support, is to bring STEAM and PBL into our district as determined by our committee of dedicated learners. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback please use the links located in the Contact Information page. Why STEAM and not STEM.. Here is an infographic to give some explanation
We have established a small steering committee that will do the behind the scenes work on facilitating this initiative. We have also established a robust and representative committee of passional STEAM enthusiasts from our district and community.
Our community outreach endeavor shows results that are asking for this type of change from our community. Click the learn more link to see the connections from our Wenatchee Learns community path survey that tie in with this initiative.
Our committees are committed to the best communication we can. We plan to have web, print, Facebook, Twitter, and phone communication regarding this initiative.
