Guidelines for Submission of Narrative or Flyers
All narrative and flyers must meet the District's guidelines for inclusion.  The guidelines provide that items must be directly related to school- or Town-based community events.  The Wellesley Public Schools is not responsible for any misprints and/or misinformation contained within a flyer, or any flyer(s) that do not get posted to the webpage.  The Wellesley Public Schools will do its best to accommodate all posting requests in a timely manner. and will typically post items on Fridays.  No new flyers will be posted during the summer, the first week of school, school vacations or the last full week of school.  Narrative and/or flyers should be submitted for approval to Addie Doherty at dohertya@wellesleyps.org.

2017-02-17 1:00 - 6:00 pm Wellesley Community Center (Babson Hall)  Blood Drive  The Wellesley Community Center, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, and a Wellesley-based business will be sponsoring a community blood donation drive on February 17. The blood drive has a goal to collect at least 50 units of lifesaving blood. Members of the public are invited to attend. Donors with the following blood types are invited to donate by the Red Cross’ double red cell technology (2RBC):  O-, O+, A- , B-. There are height and weight requirements, more information on your Red Cross donations is available here.  
2017-02-28 Wellesley Scoops Field Hockey Spring Scrimmages Priority Registration Spring Scrimmages Return! 3:30 - 4:45 PM - Wellesley College Turf Field Cost $120 per player. April 8th (Saturday), April 23rd, April 30th, May 7th.   Registration Details Wellesley Residents & Wellesley Students - OPEN NOW thru February 14th. General Registration - OPEN on February 15th. Registration closes: March 10th. For new players to the sport, these scrimmages are instructional scrimmages.  Each week, an offensive and defensive skill will be taught along with 1-2 game rules.  During the scrimmage, the coaches will help girls with these skills as well as 'game play.'  For brand new players, we'll offer a 60 minute intro-session on April 8th before the first 'scrimmage' ($25 cost).  For new players, this intro session is STRONGLY encouraged. Click here to register 
2017-03-02 League of Women Voters Meet the Candidates Night The League of Women Voters of Wellesley invites you to attend the annual "LWV Meet the Candidates" night, to be held Thursday, March 2, 7-9pm in the Wakelin Room of the Wellesley Free Library. Candidates for all townwide elected board positions have been invited to answer questions from the League and from the audience about their qualifications and their priorities for the Town of Wellesley. Among the contested races this year, there are five candidates for two seats on the School Committee. The evening will begin with a brief recognition of retiring Town Board members, and then move directly to hearing from candidates. Doors open at 6:30 for light refreshments and an informal reception during which participants can speak casually with voters and other candidates. The evening is sponsored in part by a generous donation from Roche Brothers; in addition, the Wellesley Townsman will once again be publishing an "Election Guide" with candidate statements to provide additional information to Wellesley voters. Click here for more information 
2017-03-04 9 - 11 am @ Wellesley High Volunteers Needed! Meals of Hope Food Packaging We are four Wellesley High School seniors enrolled in the Honors Global Marketing class. We have partnered with Meals of Hope which is a nonprofit that provides organizations with the ability to host meal packaging events. On March 4th, 2017 we will be hosting our own event at Wellesley High School to package 50,000 meals in 2 hours!! All of these meals will be donated to local food pantries in the Boston area. Click Here for More Info and to Volunteer 
2017-03-15 4:30 - 5:30 pm Taste of Girl Scouts Calling all Kindergarten and First Grade girls and parent/caregivers: are you interested in joining Girl Scouts but want to know more about what's involved? Please join us for a mini meeting and info session. Adults and girls will begin by participating in a mock troop meeting and then adults will participate in an info session to learn more about starting and participating in a troop. Girls will make new friends and enjoy learning a song and creating a craft. RSVP is not necessary but appreciated to make sure we have enough supplies. 2017-04-08 Save the Date  Wellesley STEM Expo  Wellesley STEM Expo 2017 Keynote Speaker: Dr. Edmund Bertschinger is Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. An astrophysicist and cosmologist, Dr. Bertschinger explores cosmic structure, the physics of gravitation, black holes and dark matter. He’s won numerous mentoring and teaching awards and published in numerous journals such as The Astrophysical Journal, Physical Review D, MNRAS, and Nature.
