"People who take the initiative in learning (proactive learners) learn more things, and learn better, than do people who sit at the feet of teachers passively waiting to be taught (reactive learners)" (Knowles, 1975, p.14)

This site is designed to provide additional support to all Windsor High School math students.  The idea is for our students to become self-directed learners who seek to solidify their understanding of mathematics.  The benefit for having resources available at any time provides the student the ability learn and comprehend at their own pace.  The solutions provided, along with the extra practice problems, allows the student to practice math correctly, rather than just going through the motions.

Using this Site*:

Students and parents should use this site as a resource to better understand concepts taught in the classroom.  Each chapter page includes a link to the CPM parent guide and extra practice.  This is a great resource for written instruction that aligns directly to the book and reads very much like a traditional textbook.  There is also a table for each chapter which categorizes objectives from the chapter sections and aligns them to the Common Core State Standards for Math from which the student will be assessed on.  Within the table you will find linked videos, help websites, and examples.  Students should utilize these help-sites to clear up any confusion from the classroom lesson or to catch up on concepts missed from absence.  There are also many practice problems for the student to execute in order to reinforce the understanding of the concept.

*Please note some links may require Google Viewer.  It is advised that you are logged into to Google Apps for Education before navigating this site.

This site is intended as an additional support outside of the classroom, not as a replacement for instruction or teacher support.
