Welcome to Montessori 2!

We would like to welcome back all of our families from last year and extend a warm welcome to our new families. Your child’s teacher for the 2023/2024 school year is Ms. Teri Cathcart working with Ms. Ashley Frigillana as our Classroom Assistant. Ms. F will be taking on more responsibilities this year and I am very excited to work alongside her as we guide your children to reach their full potentials! Ms. Christina Lee has taken a new position as Athletic Director of Bond Academy and will be teaching Physical Education to Grades 1 - 8. Although we are very sad that she is leaving our class and will miss her very much, we know that she is going to be amazing in her new role!

A new year and a fresh new start! I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones. I will continue to update our website with information about the classroom, upcoming events, Library book lists, and miscellaneous information I feel to be of importance. You can find the link to my website below. You will also find classroom information on the memo board/calendar located directly outside of the classroom and periodic notes taped to your child’s cubby.

Every year I strive for increasing the independence of the children. Therefore I would like all of the children to attempt the following on their own:

· Bring their own bag into the school and place it in their cubby

· Place their Language Folders, water bottles etc into the locations provided in the classroom

· Change into and out of their shoes, jackets etc

· Enter the classroom on their own (I know this may be hard but we ask parents to please refrain from entering the classroom)

· Be accountable for their decisions or actions

A few things that we would like you to know:

I am currently developing our schedule and we will send one home upon completion. Our schedule is subject to change at anytime but we will inform you of any such changes
Check your child’s cubby DAILY for any notices that we send home (in addition to the memo board directly outside the classroom)
Please provide a reusable water bottle for your child labeled with his/her name
Please read the supply list carefully. We would like the children to have their own supplies, clothing, shoes etc.
Please label EVERYTHING that your child brings to school (even underwear to avoid misplacement during swimming or when accidents occur)
And lastly, for our new (maybe nervous) parents, stay calm and smile J. Your children will be taken care of with lots of love. You have selected a wonderful school!
