Bankhead Middle School Information


The Code of Alabama, Section 16-6B-7 requires that each school district make available to "media, parent organizations, and members of the Alabama legislature" certain financial reports, student achievement reports, and school safety and discipline reports.

            Mission:  To cultivate a vibrant learning community that prepares students to lead and thrive in a dynamic world.

Bankhead School was named after John Hollis Bankhead Sr., who was a statesman, former United States Senator, 
and progressive public official for 55 years.
Today, Bankhead Middle School houses 5th -8th grade students and is located between Cordova Elementary and Cordova High Schools.
Bankhead Middle School has a rich history of tradition and school spirit. 
Bankhead also has strong community support and involvement in its many programs and activities. 
Athletic offerings include football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball and cheerleading. 
Students may also participate in academic organizations such as the BMS Beta Club, Robotics Team, Quiz Bowl, Band, and many more.
Bankhead Middle School is an ARI PALS school, an AMSTI site, a CLAS banner school, 
SACS accredited and is presently going through the Leader In Me implementation process.
