Monday
  • Prom 2019: Hollywood Gala is just around the corner! Prom forms and guest forms are located in the front office and student services. All dues and fines must be paid to attend.
  • Attention all 1st semester AP Literature students: Stop by Ms. Castillo's room to pick up AP exam review materials, and be sure to sign up for a review session on her website.
  • "Are you a ninth or tenth grader who needs help with your academic or honors class? Do you need help with prepping for final exams? Come to the NAS Lunch Tutoring Center in room 3204 on Tuesdays and in room 3200 on Thursdays during all lunches to be helped by student tutors. Ask your teacher for the NAS Tutoring Center lunch passes. All 9th and 10th grade academic and honors classes are welcome. "
  • Seniors that qualified to take the ACT WorkKeys certification and earned at least a Bronze level can purchase graduation cords on the Middle Creek Website from April 1st to April 12th. You cannot order cords after April 12th. See your 2nd block teacher for your results page. Contact Mrs. McCaskill with questions or concerns.

    Jostens will be on campus for a * Make-Up* Delivery Day tomorrow, in the front lobby during the lunches to deliver cap and gown units as well as other senior products. All items must be paid for in full before students can receive their products.
    Online payments must be made 24 hours prior to the delivery date. Cash or money order only will be accepted on the delivery date.

  • It is now time to register for the Summer Driver Education classes. Summer Registration forms with class schedules are available in Student Services or online at www.jordandriving.com for all wake county schools. You must file out the summer registration form if you plan to take the driver education class during the summer. All forms must be completed, emailed to lead teacher or submitted to Student Services by April 12 for priority schedules (your class choice). Any forms received after April 13 will be assigned to classes based first come and slot availability. Students assigned to the May class will receive notification (email) this week. If students doesn't receive notification, student must register for summer driver education class or wait for the next fall school session.
  • Applications are due by Wednesday April 10th for non-academy rising seniors who are interested in pursuing an internship during their senior year. Applications can be obtained from Mrs. Smith in Student Services.
  • This week is our Spring Spirit week! Check out banners in the commons, the SGA Twitter or listen up for your 2019 spirit days! Tomorrow is Tropical Tuesday, Wednesday is wind down Wednesday, Thursday is jersday Thursday, and Friday will be freedom Friday!
  • April Drama club is on Wednesday the 10th! You will get a chance to work with Theatre Professionals in the area! 2:30-2:30, hope to see you there!
  • Seniors - It's time to put up our Scholarship Wall. Please hand in your scholarship letters to Student Services whether you have accepted or declined. This includes athletic and military scholarships too.
  • If you have ever wanted to visit great European cities like Berlin, Prague, Krakow, and Budapest, here's your chance. Everyone is invited to attend the parent/student informational meeting on Monday April 29th at 6:00 in the Media Center. See Mr. Flohr if you any questions. 
  • Juniors and Seniors- If you need to pay any dues or purchase a guest ticket you can do so next Wednesday or Thursday during your lunch from 10:40-12:30. Guest forms must be turned in completed to purchase guest ticket. Prom tickets can be picked up April 25 or 26th during lunch. 
Wednesday
  • The MCHS International Club is holding their annual International Festival on Thursday April 25th from 6-8PM in the commons. Come and enjoy food, cultural crafts, performances, and so much more! Admission is free! Hope to see you there!
  • There will be a football interest meeting today after school at 2:30 in the main gym. Anyone interested in playing football next year at MCHS should attend this meeting.

  • Help support children learning to read by donating children's books! Join SGA's first ever Volleyball for books volleyball tournament and donate! Each team member must donate 5 children's books per player, and to watch, admission is 3 books per person. Teams need 6 players and must fill out the forms outside of room 430 and bring them back by April 5th. The tournament will be Monday, April 8th at 6:30 in the gym. All books go to book harvest NC! Good Luck!
  • NC Initiative is offering a 3-week program for rising high school seniors to participate in its Youth Leadership Program. Students will receive an invaluable opportunity to participate in a paid, three-week leadership development training program. Students benefit from mentorship and working alongside diverse peers from across the state while gaining real-world perspectives and insight into the nonprofit sector. Information for this opportunity can be found on the website under Student Services, Academic Enrichment Opportunities. The deadline to apply is April 8.

  • Whether you’re planning on college, a technical school, the military, or you’re just not sure yet, the ASVAB Career Exploration Program can put you on the right path toward a satisfying career. Understanding your skills, abilities, and interests will help you make the best decisions about your future. Come check out what we've got!

  •  Wake Tech's Computer Technologies Division is hosting their second annual Young Women in IT Conference on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 7:45am to 1:30pm. If you are in the 9th or 10th grade and interested in Computer Science pick up your permission forms to attend from Mrs. Smith in Student Services. We are limited to 14 participants.

  • As a reminder, the deadline for the Holly Springs Newcomers Scholarships is due this Friday to Mrs. Woynicz in Student Services. To date there have been no applications received for this $1000 scholarship. Please consider applying for this scholarship that was posted on our website on January 24th.

  • Your Lady Mustang Lacrosse Team is leading the conference at 7-0 with another win over Rival Holly Springs 17-5. Oustanding play by offensive standout Elle White and Brigid Cardillo. Alexis Ossi leading the charge in the midfield kept everything running smoothly. Cailin Cardillo with the hardest shot in the conference finishing out our attack. This team would not be where they are at without freshman sensation Sydney Mahon at Goalie. Savannah Frye playing outstanding defense daily and welcoming back Mckenzie Griffin from injured reserve. We are Middle Creek Lacrosse. Our JV remains undefeated and has begun to really come together as a team. Kristen Holowecki, Evelyn Garey, Ashley Brady, Savannah Holmes, Liili Clinton and Audrey Hairr are leading this JV team into their first ever undefeated season! GO MUSTANGS!

  • Prom council will hold a meeting tomorrow afterschool in room 3326. Any junior is welcome to join.
  • Drama Club is Back! After a 2 month Break Drama Club is back with a vengeance this week. We will be meeting from 2:30 to 3:30 in the theatre on Wednesday. The theme is SUPERHEROS! All are welcome, even if you have never attended Drama Club before, this is a great time to join. Hope to see you there!

  • Seniors! Graduation is approaching fast! Some of you may be deciding to seek full-time employment once you graduate. Are you ready? The Mustang Career Readiness Program is a great way to help you prepare. This event is sponsored by the MCHS Business Alliance and will take place on Friday, March 8, from 7:25-11:50 at the Middle Creek Community Center.
    At this event students will receive help with interviewing skills, dressing appropriately for the workplace, resume writing tips, and creating your own personal brand. Lunch will be provided for participants.

For an application look on the MCHS homepage, stop by the main office or Student Services, or see Mr. Matteau in room 310.
  • Attention all 11th Graders who missed the ACT - The ACT makeup day is March 12.  Please plan on meeting in the media center on March 12 at 7:15am.  Please see Mrs. Penuel with questions.

  • Attention all students who took an AP Course this year: Registration for the 2019 AP Exams will be from February 1 - February 28. All students who wish to take an AP exam in May must register for these exams online. All students will receive instructions during second block and they are available on the MCHS website. You are not required to take an AP Exam, however they are free for students who took the AP course this year. There is no late registration period so please make sure you sign up by February 28. Please stop by Student Services with any questions..
  • Middle Creek Fine Arts department is proud to present Disney's The Little Mermaid. Come join us under the sea and become part of that world! Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the Middle Creek homepage, or at the door, but seats are selling fast! Performances are Thursday February 28th through Saturday March 2 at 6:30pm!

Wednesday
  • Your lady Mustang lacrosse team opened up their season last night with a powerful win over Broughton last night 14-10. The ladies led by senior captains Elle White 2 goals and Cailin Cardillo 5 goals. With Alexis Ossi adding in 3 goals and Brigid Cardillo with 4. On the defensive side Freshman standout Sydney Mahon proved a powerhouse in goal with 10 saves and Savannah Frye, Amber Griffen, Maddie Hughes and Hanna Pau had an outstanding defensive opening night. Congratulations Ladies. Come see them play Thursday night at 630 pm against conference game Cape Fear.
  • The deadline for the Cary Women's Club scholarship is this Friday. The application is posted on January 22nd on the website. This is a $2500 scholarship. To date, no applications have been received. The odds are high that if you apply you may receive the scholarship. Question, see Mrs. Woynicz in Student Services.

  • Attention all students who took an AP Course this year: Registration for the 2019 AP Exams will be from February 1 - February 28. All students who wish to take an AP exam in May must register for these exams online. All students will receive instructions during second block and they are available on the MCHS website. You are not required to take an AP Exam, however they are free for students who took the AP course this year. There is no late registration period so please make sure you sign up by February 28.   • National English Honor Society is accepting applications for membership. To be eligible, students must have completed two credits in English, have at least a 3.4 GPA, and have a B average in all English classes.
    Pick up applications from Ms. Wagoner, room 3316. They are due Feb. 20 at 2:30 pm

  • Seniors! Graduation is approaching fast! Some of you may be deciding to seek full-time employment once you graduate. Are you ready? The Mustang Career Readiness Program is a great way to help you prepare. This event is sponsored by the MCHS Business Alliance and will take place on Friday, March 8, from 7:25-11:50 at the Middle Creek Community Center.
    At this event students will receive help with interviewing skills, dressing appropriately for the workplace, resume writing tips, and creating your own personal brand. Lunch will be provided for participants.

  • If you love kids, love being a leader and love physical education, PEPI is the class for you, Physical Education Pupil Instruction is definetly a class you want to be a part of. Monday
  • "Are you a ninth or tenth grader who needs help with your academic or honors class? Come to the NAS Lunch Tutoring Center in room 3204 on Tuesdays and in room 3200 on Thursdays during all lunches to be helped by student tutors. All 9th and 10th grade academic and honors classes are welcome!"
  • The State Employee Credit Union $10,000 scholarship has been posted on the school's scholarship website which can be found under Quick Links on the Middle Creek home page. The completed application is due by 2 PM on February 19th. Please note that the requirements are very specific. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Woynicz in Student Services.
  • Attention all students who took an AP Course this year: Registration for the 2019 AP Exams will be from February 1 - February 28. All students who wish to take an AP exam in May must register for these exams online. All students will receive instructions during second block and they are available on the MCHS website. You are not required to take an AP Exam, however they are free for students who took the AP course this year. There is no late registration period so please make sure you sign up by February 28. Please stop by Student Services with any questions.
  • “HOSA club is collecting new and slightly used stuffed animals for hospitalized children in traumatic situations. If you have any to donate, please bring them to room 218, 2322, or 3204 by February 28th”
  • In a recent study, 89 percent of companies surveyed said high school students with internship experience have a competitive advantage when applying for college-level internships and full-time jobs. An internship at a young age has a huge impact on future successes and can pave the way to your career. If you are interested in finding out more about internships attend the informational meeting on Tuesday, February 12 in Room 305.
  • All 11th grade students will be administered the ACT w/writing on Feb 20. In preparation for the ACT, 11th grade students will attend the pre-administration session on Feb 13. Students will report to 1st block, receive a pass from their 1st block teacher and then wait for an announcement releasing them to the commons. Please see Mrs. Penuel with questions.

  • February Student Rap Session.
    Would you like the opportunity to share your stories with your teachers about your experiences about equity and diversity at the Creek in your classes? If so, please come to the February Student Rap Session sponsored by the MCHS Student Equity Team. This Wednesday, February 13 in the media center during all three lunches come out to share and listen as we seek to make the Creek a more equitable place for everyone. Snacks will be provided. Bring a friend! Your student equity team cannot wait to see you.
  • Attention Seniors: The Parking Lottery is now open. Go to MCHS Website and the link is at top in the green bar. This is for any senior who would like to potentially move parking spots.

  • National English Honor Society is accepting applications for membership. To be eligible, students must have completed two credits in English, have at least a 3.4 GPA, and have a B average in all English classes.

  • Spring Sports Ticket To Play Dates! In order to tryout for a Spring Sport, you must get a Ticket To Play! These will be done during lunches on the following dates, NONE will be done on the tryout dates! February 4 is Track, Tennis, and Golf - February 5 is Lacrosse - February 6 is Soccer and Stunt - February 8 is Baseball and Softball - Even if you have played a Fall or Winter Sport, you MUST get one for Spring as well.

  •  There will be a men's Lacrosse Meeting in Room 101 next to the Media Center tomorrow morning from 7:00-7:20AM for all student-athletes interested in playing lacrosse this spring new or experienced. The meeting will cover important spring tryout and team information. Anyone planning to tryout should attend. If unable to attend but plan to tryout please let Coach Holota, Coach Pitcher, or Coach Flohr know.

  • CTE Month Door Competition Announcement
    February is National Career & Technical Education Month (CTE.)
    Did you know that 95% of CTE students graduate high school, which is 10% higher than the national average?
    In honor of CTE month, NTHS requests that you decorate your homeroom door based upon the theme of “celebrating future careers” and how it relates to your class.
    The winner of the competition will receive a pizza or doughnut party! Doors should be completed by the morning of February 14th, and winners will be announced the following morning of the 15th. Have fun and good luck!
