Cary High School Career Fair - Friday, March 17th
SUMMER CAMPS at UNC-CHAPEL HILL - UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health is pleased to invite students to participate in the Sixth Annual Summer Public Health Symposium for High School Students (Symposium). The Symposium is designed to expose rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors to the field of public health while also enabling students to explore individual leadership styles. This year, the Symposium will be offered during two different sessions. Session I will run from Sunday through Tuesday, and Session II will run from Wednesday through Friday (see exact dates below). Aside from getting to and from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, this program is completely free for participants. Please note: student’s personal cars will not be permitted on campus. Participants will be provided campus housing and all meals during the Symposium. The application process is electronic and can be accessed by clicking here or visiting our webpage. Applications must be received by 5:00pm on Monday, March 6, 2017.
The City of Raleigh will be hiring more than 500 employees for the summer for various camps, youth programs, and sports activities. There are two information sessions scheduled for people interested in positions such as cashiers, scorekeepers, and life guards.Dates, locations, and times are listed below:
Monday, February 27 – Thomas G. Crowder Woodland Center, 5611 Jaguar Park Dr., Raleigh, NC 27606, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 1 – Anne Gordon Center, 1901 Spring Forest Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
The information sessions are free and open to all candidates and backgrounds. Staff from the City will be on hand to talk about the various opportunities. Candidates can apply online before the event and staff will be available on-site to assist candidates with the online application.

Internships and Job Shadowing
If you are interested in a particular career and would like to see what the career is like on a day to day basis, please consider job shadowing or interning in that career field. Job shadowing is a one day experience in the work place. An internship is an experience up to 135 hours either paid or unpaid working in a particular field. Please complete the job shadow application or the internship application in order to begin the process. You can also see Mrs. Gressett in room 2230 for more details.
