Located in the heart of Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina, USA, Broughton is the most historic high school in Wake County. In 1929, Broughton began a tradition of excellence that continues to the present. As Wake County's Global Studies magnet high school, Broughton offers innovative global learning experiences that inspire students to be thoughtful, reflective, service-minded citizens who enjoy learning and contribute effectively within the local-to-global community. We are proud to offer the benefits of a large, comprehensive high school combined with diverse opportunities for students to find their niche, form lasting friendships, and engage meaningfully in academic, athletic, and artistic endeavors.
Central to the Global Studies magnet theme, all students take part in international and global education designed to help them understand the world and develop skills and dispositions that will lead us all to a better future. Also, juniors and seniors have the opportunity to engage in the rich and rigorous International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, which Broughton has offered since 2003.
visit us and speak with our students, parents, faculty, community members, and alumni. We look forward to to welcoming you soon!
Through rigorous and innovative lessons that invite risk-taking and critical thinking, Broughton students will become global citizens who value diversity, collaborate effectively, and share their talents to improve the world.
