Bus Routes

Bus schedules are now available.  To utilize our ever-decreasing transportation funding more efficiently, we’ve altered some of the routes and their schedules.  Busses are now being scheduled according to home location instead of by school building.  Several of the busses (40, 42, 43) will run two routes, while another (44) will only run one route.

  • For students assigned to those bus routes that require two routes, students picked up first in the morning will be dropped off first in the afternoon, and will be classified with an “A” next to their bus number. These students will arrive at school approximately 20 minutes prior to being allowed in their classrooms.  Upon getting off the bus, these students will be directed to the gymnasium where they will be monitored and allowed to study or socialize (ES students will have the opportunity to participate in some type of activity).  In the afternoon, these students will be dismissed from their classrooms to their busses.

  • Likewise, students picked up on the second run in the morning will be dropped off during the 2nd run each afternoon, and will be classified with a “B” next to their bus number. These students, upon getting off the bus in the morning, will be directed to go to the gym if they arrive before 7:55 (8:05 at the middle school) or to their homerooms after 7:55 (8:05 at the middle school).  In the afternoon, these students will proceed from their homerooms to the gym or designated area where they will be monitored and allowed to study or socialize (ES students will have the opportunity to participate in some type of activity) until their busses arrive to pick them up.

  • As always, I ask for patience and cooperation with the bussing.  Once everyone becomes more acclimated with the bussing procedures, we are hoping to possibly eliminate one or two of the second runs.  Again, our concern is to be as accommodating as possible, and provide the best and safest service possible, within our means. (Remember, we cannot provide house-to-house drop-off, but try to establish drop-off locations at intersecting streets, within a radius of no greater than two blocks of each student’s home.)
