The National Park Service wants to get every fourth-grade Kid into a Park! Free passes to visit all National Parks lands and waters were distributed to all fourth-grade students in library.
There are two places on Long Island that are part of the National Park system including Fire Island National Seashore & Sagamore Hill National Historic Site (Bully!) as well as numerous places in NYC including the African American Burial Ground National Monument and the Statue of Liberty National Monument, Click here for a complete list of the National Parks within NYS and here for all lands & waters in the NPS.
NYS Park system honors the National Park Pass through the Connect Kids to Parks program so fourth grade students (and their families) can visit any of the NY State Parks for free (parking fees (such as Robert Moses State Park) & house fees (like the Walt Whitman Birthplace in Huntington Station)) through December 31, 2017.
