Ms. Mary Ann Cafiero


Ms. Cafiero has been a teacher in West Babylon for  16 years. She has worked at both the elementary and high school levels. 

Ms. Cafiero teaches piano, guitar, theory, theater and choir classes. She is the advisor of the Drama Club, the Musical Production and Blue and Gold. 

She received a Bachelors of Music in Education from Westminster Choir College.  She was a voice major and piano and theater minor.  She sang with the New York Philharmonic, the New Jersey Philharmonic and appeared on PBS Great Performances. She received her Masters in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Eighteenth Century English Literature from Dowling College.   There, she was awarded an English Scholars award.

Ms. Cafiero is proud of her students' many achievements.  Her students have been members of All-County, All-State, All-Eastern and All-National choirs.  They have participated in the Carnegie Honors Performance Series in New York and Sydney, Australia.  Her students have won BACCA theater awards and have been finalists in the Roger Rees Regional Musical Theater Awards.  

Locally, Ms. Cafiero is a board member, director and musical director for South Shore Theater Experience.  She has directed several adult and children productions and, as an actor, has been reviewed by Newsday in the Arts and Leisure section.
