Input Output Presentation

Make a slideshow to reinforce what you learned about input, output, and storage devices.
Hint:  Politely ask the teacher to show an example from Google Drive -> Shared with Me -> search for Input Output

Part A - Common Human Interface Devices
  1. Create a Google Presentation about Input and Output.
  2. RENAME IT!
    • Format for Filename:  [Lastname] [Firstname] [YYYY] [MM] [DD] Input Output
    • Example:  Smith John 2013 12 09 Input Output
  3. SHARE -- Share it with your teacher's email address.
    • Example:  wissnera@waylandunion.org
  4. TITLE -- The first slide should include "Input / Output" and your first and last name
  5. INPUT -- Slide two, Input Devices
    • List of the five (5) most common input devices
    • Take photos of these devices using your iPad.
    • Upload the photos using Google Drive App.
    • Insert the photos on the slide.
    • Crop the photos
    • Place labels next to each photo OR use arrows to match each word with its photo
  6. OUTPUT -- Slide three, Output Devices
    • List of three different types of output devices
    • Take a photo of each and insert on the slide.
    • Place labels next to each photo OR use arrows to match each word with its photo
  7. CHECK - Please raise your hand and politely ask your teacher to check over your slides.
Part B - Displays, Ports & Memory
  1. DISPLAYS - Slide four
    1. Take at least five pictures (with your iPad camera) of different displays or screens, different sizes.
    2. Upload to Google Drive app.
    3. Insert the images on the slide.
  2. PORTS - Slide five
    1. Use your iPad camera to take one picture of all the ports on the back of a classroom computer.
    2. Upload to Google Drive app.
    3. Insert the image on the slide.
    4. Label and arrow each of the 8 different kinds of port with its names.

  3. STORAGE - Slide six
    1. List six different types of storage devices.
    2. Use your iPad camera to take a picture of each one.
    3. Upload to Google Drive app.
    4. Insert the images on the slide.
    5. Make an arrow from each list item to the matching photo.
  4. USB FLASH DRIVES -- Slide seven:  Include five photos of different USB Flash drives with DIFFERENT storage capacities.
  5. CREDITS -- Slide eight:  Should include "Input / Output" and your first and last name.
  6. BACKGROUND -- Select a background color and apply to all the slides: example: yellow, pink, orange, light green, etc.
  7. LINK -- Paste the link to your presentation into the Campus Portal assignment.
  8. SHARE -- Share it with your teacher's email address.
    • Example:  wissnera@waylandunion.org
  9. CHECK!  Please raise your hand and show your teacher your project.

Hardware Review

  1. Save ALL these photos on to your iPad's camera roll. (link below)

  3. Open each picture in an app where you can add labels.  For example:  PicCollage, WhiteBoard, etc.
  4. As you watch the videos below, add labels to all the parts on each photo.
  5. When you are done, you should have 7 labeled photos of all the parts of this computer.
  6. DropBox -- The video is also on the Network in this folder: My Computer \ Classes\Wissner\Handout\Computer Hardware\

  8. You should now have 7 labeled photos.
